Yes, I stand corrected, although this situation only obtains in certain
places. Not currently here, in California, for residential customers. A
few years ago we *were* able to buy our electricity from designated
suppliers; I used to be a customer of Green Mountain Energy, before the
state pulled the plug on the choice program (and before the company went
belly up). Now PG&E's* the only game in town.
Also wanted to point out that contrary to someone's objections, wind
power can produce a lot more energy than flapping mouths on Usenet.
Serious energy, in the megawatts.

Don't talk to me, those of you who must need to be slammed in the
forehead with a maul before you'll GET IT that Wikipedia is a
