Speaking of ID, Nevada's improving on its identification system for
driving licenses. In 2008, your photo will be scanned and transmitted
to a facial recognition company before the license is issued. It will
be compared initially to just the NV license holders to prevent
duplicates, and later will be compared to a national database of other
states. It will delay issuance of the D/L by a few days, and the new
D/L will be mailed out rather than dispensed at the DMV when you apply
for it. I like this idea, and think it'll improve ferreting out miscreants.
