Subject: best method for dialling cell phones in Italy from US? Posted on: Mon, 5 Mar 2007 14:27:37 +0000 (UTC)

I am not sure if this is the right newsgroup for this query... I
couldn't really find an obviously appropriate group with a Google
search.

Anyway... I have family travelling for an extended period in Italy.
They are living in an apartment but they only have a cell phone, no
landline. I am ordinarily a great fan of Skype but their rates for
dialling a cell phone in Italy from the US are quite expensive,
something like 50 cents a minute.

The only other option I can think of is to use an international
calling card, which I could dial either from my US cell phone or from
Skype. Does anyone have any ingenious solutions for dialing a European
cell phone from the US and paying something less than 50 cents a
minute???
