Subject: Anyone been to North Cascades National Park? Posted on: Tue, 13 Mar 2007 20:30:13 +0000 (UTC)

I've been through once before, but I arrived in the evening, went for
a short hike, camped near the car, and left the next morning. Too
many miles ahead, I was in a hurry, and while I remember how amazingly
beautiful the place was, and how it looked a lot like Glacier Nat'l
Park, I really didn't get to see much of the place.

It's starting to be spring, and I've had this sense of wanderlust, so
I'm planning to head out to North Cascades as soon as the road opens.
( I guess it's accessible from Lake Chelan, but not from the west? )
I'm hoping people can suggest a few good hikes? And where to stay,
ideally a campground that doesn't get traveled very often?

And can anybody suggest where to find the best epic mountain views?
Photography is a hobby of mine, and I love mountains. I'm hoping to
see the North Cascades version of stuff like this:

So if anybody can recommend some good trails, I'll be eternally
grateful!
