Subject: hotels.com - a bad experience Posted on: Sat, 17 Mar 2007 12:30:12 +0000 (UTC)

Hello,
I live in London, I was in the USA for a week last month. On 05/03/07
I was in Philadelphia and I booked for next day's night in New York
through www.hotels.com The next day my girfriend got sick, so we had
to move the trip 1 day ahead (I did this before noon 06/03). The
hotels.com website allowed us to move the booking. They claimed they
would charge something. I thought it was 25 dollars... well, reading
their statements it was not clear if they were charging only 25
dollars or 1 night + 25 dollars because the booking was after
03/03/07, etc etc... Anyway I decided to book. Now, reading my credit
card statement I see they charged 2 nights + 25 dollar penalty. I'm
asking if this is a correct procedure. I mean, I don't understand why
they charged me 25 if they already kept the whole money of the first
night. Moreover, if I knew the trick, I used another credit card to
book and avoid the 25 dollar penalty, if they didn't refund the first
night at all, don't you think? I mean, where is the logic in this
behaviour?

I'll appreciate your comments, expecially if they did something wong,
so I may ask my lawyer to conteact them
