Having to ask and looking for a credit from a pay-up-front
reservation is my issue. I just have a higher comfort level
with pay-on-departure bookings in which the cancellation
deadline (except for resorts) is often 4-6PM on the day of
arrival. I realize that there is often a discount with prepaid
bookings, but I've found that sometimes, you can get the
same rate without pre-payment at the hotel's own website.
