The only time I used it is when a particular hotel I wanted to stay
at location-wise in a large city had no decent rates of their own.
I called, and the clerk told me I could get a good rate on hotels.com,
but he couldn't offer one himself. I thought this very odd, but
it turned out to be true. I don't like using third party booking,
but it worked OK.
