Your original posting said that you were trying do decide whether
to visit Crater Lake in late April or early to mid May, not right
now. In that case, how would a page about current conditions help
you? You wanted to know whether the entire park closes down, or
just certain areas. CRLA's Operating Hours & Seasons page answers
that question and indicates exactly which facilities are likely
to be open by the time you want to go. You can then decide whether
that amount of park availability is sufficient for you to want to
visit. As you get closer to that time, you can call the current
road conditions phone number. Even the above-mentioned page on
the Yosemite site tells people to call for the latest information,
not just to rely on the web page.
