Subject: Washington DC advice - all the hotels are full or $400+ Posted on: Sun, 8 Apr 2007 07:51:12 +0000 (UTC)

I'm trying to reserve a hotel in Washington DC for 4/16-4/22. This is
just after the cherry blossom festival and almost all of the hotels
are full. There are a few left but they're $400+ per night. We've
searched all the online travel sites and the only thing we find are
hotels with bugs or hotels in bad neighborhoods (thank you
tripadvisor).

I was planning on going without a car during our week in DC but now I
think we could do better getting a car, staying in a hotel outside of
DC, and taking the metro in. But I read with all the metro fees that
it is expensive and we'd be better off just driving into DC and paying
for a day of parking.

I'm hoping someone here can offer me some suggestions. I'm afraid we
might have to cancel the DC portion of our trip and spend more time
elsewhere.
