Sell the tickets. Check the schedule for this concert. See when the
artists play Philadelphia. Take them to the concert in Philly. It's
near everybody's home. You don't have to pass through NC. Nobody gets
carsick. Nobody has to fly. Nobody has to ride a train. The surprise
will work better if you just tell them you're taking everyone to
dinner. (Pick someplace walking distance to the theater.) After dinner
everyone can go for a little walk to help the food settle down. At
which point you just happen to pass near the theater. Stop for a minute
to admire the theater posters. You could even say something like "Gee
wouldn't it be great if we could just walk in and see this...no wait we
can, I got tickets for everyone!" Of course this could be too simple.
