Lawrence, I very much applaud your attempt to get rid of the spammers
in this group. And I hope you'll keep doing that! But I think the
relevant fact this time is that the original poster was apparently
spamming (trying to drive traffic to her website). So I think that's
what you should focus on, not that she was an Aussie.
Alan brought up a good point (in a part of his posting that you didn't
respond to) about how there is no "rec.travel.world" or "rec.travel.global."
If someone truly does have travel information regarding multiple areas
of the world that they want to share for altruistic reasons (not the
case this time, though, as far as I can tell), would not this group
be one of the appropriate places to post it?
The original poster made it clear that her information was not just
about Australia, so I'm not sure why you've been suggesting that she
is confusing Australia with the U.S. If she had said, "Come visit my
website about Australian hotels," then she'd be both a spammer *and*
off-topic. As it is, she appears to be merely an on-topic spammer,
which still gives us plenty of ammunition to make snide comments. :-)
