Subject: Hawaii: Legal to bring frozen meat, fruits, veggies? Costco HI prices vs. mainland Costco? Posted on: Wed, 25 Apr 2007 23:46:56 +0000 (UTC)

The price of food in Hawaii is legendary. I'm wondering whether we should
bring a bunch of food with us, and whether it would be permissable to bring
frozen meat into HI. Finally, I'm wondering how the price of items at
Costco compares in HI versus the states. We'll be on the big island of
Hawaii for most of our stay.

Regarding produce, I read that "pineapple, Florida citrus, vegetables in the
turnip family (daikon, rutabaga, radishes, etc.), and green coffee beans"
are forbidden. I have no idea if this list is complete.

Regarding frozen chicken and fish, I have no idea what's permissable.

Any help out there in USENET-land?

Thanks,
-KF
