So, you're spending a couple grand to fly all the way to Hawaii on
vacation (I assume), stay at a nice, but reasonable, place for a week or
so, rent a car, etc., and you're trying to save money by bringing your own
food??? Penny wise and Pound foolishness....

I found the grocery store prices (in Hilo on the Big Island) not all that
different than my hometown stores with a few exceptions. (Fortunately,
things I don't eat.) I just shopped where the locals shop and not in
the stores in the tourist areas.
