Still doing so thanks. I have used Budget there (SFO) for the past 2
years - always reserved a Mustang convertible - always got a Sebring -
so no more Budget for me ( Sebring tilt wheel is in my lap).

About the AIRPORT CONCESSION RECOVERY ON FLIGHT ARRIVALS WITHIN 12 HOURS
fee of 11.10 % ... ( which although I found a definition at Alamo (
below), I don't understand the concept/objective), I know not gonna
change but to get around it :
1. If I return it a day BEFORE my departure , I can save about $200 ????
What purpose does that serve ? How is that " better" for them ?
2. Budget website stated " at some airports the fee can be avoided by
NOT using the shuttle to our pick-up location". Huh ? So if I walk or
take a CAB from the gate to the pick-up area - no $200 fee ?? Again -
what's the idea behind this ??? I suspect that it's just that most
people don't pay attention and they make an extra $200 by adding a
complicated sounding line item to the bill.
3. I thought the fee went directly to the airport, but it looks like to
rental company to help them pay the airport for their space. ( and why
not for their other/downtown locations ?)

BTW , when I checked return rate I wasn't asked - "when is your flight
home?" but I will try it later - enter a different departure date and
see if it goes down by $200. If it does , I'll get a hotel for another
night or return it elsewhere ( if only an airport fee) and just take a
cab to airport. .

< from Alamo website >
At some locations, Alamo has elected to impose "recovery fees" to
recover or recoup all or a portion of its expenses related to a type of
overhead. At certain airport locations where Alamo is an on-airport
concessionaire, Alamo has elected to impose a charge, often referred to
as a Concession Recoupment Fee or Concession Recovery Fee, to recover
all or a portion of the concession fees which it is obligated to pay to
the airport. Further, many airports impose a fee on revenue from
off-airport rental car transactions (typically when the customer exits
the airport using the off-airport company's shuttle bus) at locations
where Alamo is an off-airport concessionaire; Alamo elects to impose a
charge to recover all or a portion of this fee from customers. This fee,
which varies by airport, will appear separately in the charges section
of the rental agreement as Airport Fee, or the like.
