I agree this is a good plan. Rather than try to pick out a
restaurant in advance, you can find one with the kind of food
you like by just strolling around the Village. Read the menus
posted outside, take a look inside. If there are few customers
pass it by. The Village is relatively compact and offers better
dining choices than Midtown Manhattan. A good place to start is
to take the subway to West Fourth Street station, cross Sixth
Avenue and stroll West. Several subway lines serve the West Fourth
Street stop. If they are staying in Jamaica, the E train would
work.
