Well the food in New York City Chinatown is not made in a factory,
either Chinese or Italian owned. However for many years my wife's
uncle's friend had a lobster store in NYC Chinatown, and she had to buy
her lobsters from the Italian "distributor," as the lobstermen were only
allowed to sell to the "distributor."

Just as in San Francisco, the best food in NYC is generally found out in
the neighborhoods where most tourists don't venture. However the Chinese
food in NYC Chinatown is generally good, while the Chinese food in SF
Chinatown is generally awful, with the good Chinese food out in the
"new" Chinatowns of the Richmond and the Sunset neighborhoods.
