as far as the marriot goes, there is a stretch of restaurants about 5
minutes away, on Smith street. It is the "restaurant row" of Brooklyn,
i.e. all the cool kids eat there :-)
There are also a bunch of restaurants on Atlantic Avenue, which is
nearby. Park Slope also has a ton of bars and restaurants, it's
probably less than $10 by cab.
Arecibo car service services that area, they are a reliable, good car
service. 718 783 6465 or 718 645 3030 You can also hail a yellow cab
from that hotel.
As far as the marine terminal, it is in red hook, which used to be a
rough neighborhood, but is now in the process of being gentrified.
There are some restaurants on Van Brunt St, which is the same block as
the marine terminal...I think a cab from your hotel will be around $10,
give or take.....
Lastly, Brooklyn is more residential that Manhattan, so there are less
options available wrt to hotels. You can check craigslist for short
term rentals in brooklyn.
Here are some other hotel options in brooklyn, I don't know if they
will be open when you arrive...
good
luck
PS-if you are here whent the weather is nice, you should walk over the
brooklyn bridge to manhattan, it a really nice, fun thing to do, and
free :-) Also, if you are planning on eating in Park Slope, Prospect
Park is nearby, and is a nice place when the weather is nice..
Enjoy!
