I live in Kansas but love Newfoundland so much that it is now an annual
pilgrimage. Check the 3 photo albums on http://shorock.com/nfld/
It is most important not to underestimate the size of Newfoundland.
Here's a fact: Halifax is almost exactly midway between New York and St.
John's!!! If St. John's is in the Halifax area (as many assume), then
NYC is also in the Halifax area (which nobody claims).
It is impossible to allow too much time for St. John's. We now go for a
couple of weeks a year and just stay in downtown and usually walk
everywhere, yet our problem is not lack of things to see & do, but lack
of time to do everything we want to do.
The music/art scene in St. John's is incredible. But, for a change of
pace, if you want to walk on scenic walking trails, there's plenty of
that to do, too.
