For years, I've been saying just that, observed during my
experiences, in this forum and elsewhere. It is what I use for
planning and is also my usual actuality. Generally speaking, to
average 50 you have to drive 65-70. To average any particular speed
requires driving 15-20mph faster.
One trip I was astonished to have averaged something like 61mph. I
musta been flyin'!
