We're planning on heading east again this summer, and 1 of our
favourite restaurants is Da Maurizio in Halifax. It's in the same
building as Alexander Keith's brewery on Lower Water St. Great food &
service. Everyone heads for the waterfront, but the food is generally
poor pub grub -- but a great location for a few drinks on a sunny day.

You can request a free copy of the Doers' & Dreamers' Guide from here:

It's full of great info -- NS does a great job of this guide and
self-promotion.

We've found Peggy's Cove to be very overcrowded and touristy, but just
down the road is a stirring and meaningful memorial to the victims of
Swissair Flight 111 that crashed off the coast in 1998. We love the
inscription "They have been joined to the sea and the sky." It's such
a beautiful spot. Some of the unidentified remains of victims of the
crash are buried in a larger site near Bayswater Prov. Park on the
other side of the bay.

Mahone Bay is 1 of many pretty towns between Peggy's Cove & Halifax.
