Fastest I can find is (from I-5 - I-10 intersection) I-10 EB to I-15 NB
through Las Vegas to I-70. In Denver pick up I-76 EB and then pick up I-80
North of Julesburg, CO. Pick up I-55 North near Joliet, IL Take to Chicago.
Distance from start to Chicago (I-55 & I-90 intersection) is just about 2000
miles and with normal quick stops (15 minutes for fuel, restroom and
recharge food at fast food stop) will take about 31 hours to drive. This is
considering a 70 MPH speed on all the interstates. It probably will be
longer time due to slower times in some of the cities. There is
reconstruction on roads throughout the US and any route you take will
probably have delays due to the reconstruction of America's highways.
