Atlanta temperatures are comparable to Dallas, but with much more humidity. The
suburbs to the north and northwest (Roswell/Alpharetta around through Marietta
are nice areas to live.

Atlanta housing is *much* more expensive than Plano, and any commute from the
suburbs to the perimeter is absolutely murderous.

Both cities lack a downtown focus area, but at least in Dallas, you've got Fort
Worth, Austin, and San Antonio within easy driving range.

My family lived in Alpharetta for many years, then spent six years in Plano
(~Legacy and Coit), relocating to Florida last year. I'd take Dallas over
Atlanta in a heartbeat.
