This is just my opinion, but based on everything you post (I lurk, but I
read :-) I think you'll find Cancun disgusting. It is a highly
commercialized extended piece of the US. The beaches are beautiful, yes, but
the whole strip has hotels up and down it, most places accept dollars and
speak English, and there will be a lot of drunk Americans who have been to
Cancun 15 times on vacation, but have never taken a holiday in another
country. And you have beautiful beaches in your own country.
[No flames, please....that's just my opinion.]
If you want to see and experience Mexico, stay anywhere but Cancun.
On the other hand, as an Aussie on tour, you may want to experience Mexican
mass tourism....if so, who am I to stop you :-) But I warned you.
