I did ask for a confirmation number and was told on the phone that it
was not necessary. I sent followup e-mails to confirm and they
replied in the affirmative.
My point is the complaint to Tourism BC went no where. I got a lame
apology by letter from a Tourism person. It took over 2 months to get
that. This happened on a Saturday afternoon in Osoyoos when it was
almost impossible to find another place to stay. We did, after
putting $20 into phone calls. However, it was a horrible place and we
left at 4:30 am with very little sleep.
My complaint here is that Tourism BC accepted the Whitehorse B and B
story that their computer was broken. I made the reservation in May.
Would they not have a paper record for backup and planning? Why did
she say she had never heard of me. It was a horrible experience. We
were told by our hotel that we were not the first people to complain
about the Whitehorse B and B not honouring their bookings. I would
like to be contacted by someone else with the same experience.
