That doesn't make sense as the seat would have to be rather much larger than
what is needed just to fit me, for the extra space to be useless to me. You do
know people shift around for comfort, like to place things with themselves in
the seat, etc.

The seats being as narrow as they are already, *many* people would gladly pay
the 25% more for more comfort (see above), not just the fat. 25% more sure
beats going up to business or first class.
