Hertz offers their GPS system "Never Lost" for an additional fee, though I
have had it added at no charge on occasion. For high-end, LA is probably one
of the best sites, including Las Vegas, Chicago and Miami. You can usually get
a Jaguar, or similar. These are usually referred to as X-cars with Hertz. Most
agencies offer similar. If you want an exotic, i.e. Aston-Martin or Bently, LA
would be a good place to pick one up. Do not know the lineup at the various
agencies. We usually do a Lexus or a larger Volvo, when in the Las Angeles
area. There are also extreme high-end rental agencies, where you can get
Ferraris, or maybe a vintage Rolls, though most of these will probably not
have GPS. I looked at a Ferrari 308, but it was $650/day, so did not go that
route.
As for insurance, I have my US coverage, plus full replacement from my credit
card. I do not know about acquisiton of insurance within the rental agency.
Cannot help you there.
