Why? Do you feel safer having the people who actually are in charge of
it placate the irrational fears you have as a result of your lacking
education, with useless goblin hunts?

I'll bet $20 you think restrictions of liquids in carry on luggage make
you safer too, don't you? Never mind the fact that not a single entity
on the planet has been able to successfully manufacture an explosive
out of liquids in any and environment or time frame that could remotely
be equated with an actual flight or anything, just bob that fuzzy head
of yours up and down, let loose your bleating approval, and convince
yourself you're "safer" because your handlers say you are.

And all the while sheeple, people are smuggling explosives, guns,
knives, and all manner shape and for of contraband through US air
terminals **every single day**. That's the net result of your precious
security theater sonny... nothing but the false sense of security most
such horrid misapplications of resources produce.

If you think terrorists get intel from Google Earth you're an imbecile.
It's both too dated in most cases and too easily manipulated. The image
of some raghead clicking pas his Matrix screen saver and pulling up
real time images of Washington might make for a dandy opening chapter
in some Tom Clancy novel, but in real life those sorts of folk know
better, and get their intel from more reliable and useful sources.
