At the inquiry, Dr. Mike Webster who has worked with the police for over
30 years says that the police has been "brainwashed" by the taser
manufacturer to justify "ridiculously inappropriate use of the
electronic weapon".
The police have been conditioned that the only tool they have is the
taser. When you think the only tool you have is a hammer, you begin to
think the world is a nail.
The police (neanderthals) need to create a non threatening environment
to diffuse crisis situations by using calm communication skills, and
neutral body language. Instead they come in for a quick, simple,
solution-tasering. The 82 year old hospital bed striken man tasered by
police in his hospital bed, recovering from heart surgery prior to the
attack is just one more example of the police's abuse of their
authority.
