I guess we can expect a load of crap from anyone using the name Conrad
Black. The police are not brainwashed by the taser manufacturer. They have
been provided with a tool that is far safer than the alternatives and are
subject to their agency's Use of Force policies. In most cases, the subject
is momentarily disabled by excruciating pain but after that they suffer
nothing more than a couple of puncture wounds and possible bruising. Death
is rare and usually attributed to some sort of drug overdose. It has not
been demonstrated that tasers have ever caused death, though they may have
been a contributing factor.

Are you making up your factoids as you go? The man was not recovering from
heart surgery. He had had bypass surgery some time in the past. He was
being treated for pneumonia and the police were called because the man was
delirious and pulled out a knife. When the police arrived and he refused to
drop the knife he was tasered, the knife was taken and then he was given the
medical treatment that he needed. He suffered no physical damage from the
taser.
