Drive up the coast and take some of the roads that lead to the water
from Route 1. We like Bar Harbor which is touristy but there is also
Southwest Harbor and other towns on Mt Desert island which also
includes Acadia National Park. Among other things to do there, there
are a number of hiking trails which range from easy to difficult and
are of various lengths.
