Continuing to repeat the claim that H1N1 isnt dangerous doesn't
make it true. While most people have mild symptoms a number
of people are hit very hard. Intensive care systems in Australia
and New Zealand have been put under heavy strain by the number
of cases which required support.In the UK the load is already heavy
and the NHS is conducting an emergency expansion of ICU capacity.

65% of those admitted required mechanical ventilation to help
them breathe. What is worrying is that the most vulnerable groups
were not the usually vulnerable groups of children and the elderly.
In Australia 92% were under 62 and serious cases involved adults
between the ages of 25 and 65 with pregnant women being particularly
vulnerable. Children under the age of 1 year seem to be very vulnerable
as well.
