I met many people who book theirs just a couple of days in advance, but then you have to be in a flexible schedule to allow any delays (I wasn't). January and February are high season months in South America, but it's also the rainy season in the altiplano, so I don't know if it is a busy time for the trail. Have you checked with other local agencies?
